Our journey started off in 2017 when we purchased land in the outskirts of Mosta, in an area known as Il-Bezbizija. We named the property ‘Bint L-Irjieħ’, which translates into ‘daughter of the winds’. This name was chosen because the property is a farmhouse set on a plateau, which is exposed to all the elements, especially the winds. We then started experimenting growing our own produce, with the help of Zaren, a renowned farmer who hails from the quaint Mgarr.

Our produce was then tested by family and friends, who immediately pushed us to commercialise it. We then started to increase our quantities and in January 2020, started selling our produce. As of today, our produce is not certified organic but is coined ‘pesticide free’, as Zaren does not use any pesticides,and relies solely on a kind of sulphur, which is a natural alternative to pesticides, ultimately producing tasty, healthy fruit and vegetables.
